The Pierce Clinic of Chiropractic has deep roots in the St. Petersburg community. As a pillar in the Tampa Bay area for almost 50 years, the Pierce Clinic has been helping patients get well using precision Upper Cervical chiropractic care.
After graduating from chiropractic school in 1968, G. Stanford Pierce Sr. kicked off his chiropractic career by mentoring with his older brother Burton Pierce, who had started practicing earlier that decade. The practice (located on 9th St. North in St. Petersburg) saw the two Pierce brothers begin refining their procedures for getting patients well with Upper Cervical chiropractic care. In 1970, in an effort to help more people throughout the state of Florida, Burton Pierce moved to Jacksonville to open a second practice while G. Stanford Pierce stayed at that original 600 sq. foot location.
Expansion and Training
After practicing solo for the next seven years, in 1977 Stanford Pierce moved to his second location, on 1st Avenue North. This was his first major expansion, and in this much larger facility Dr. Pierce began taking on interns and teaching Orthogonal Upper Cervical work to new chiropractic graduates and established doctors alike. It would be another 17 years before Dr. Pierce reached the capacity for that facility.
In 1994, the Pierce Clinic made its third relocation, this time to the Town Plaza Center on 62nd Avenue North. It was at that location in 1999 that Dr. Pierce’s son – Dr. Stan Pierce Jr., joined the family legacy of Upper Cervical Chiropractic specialists. While patient care remained the #1 priority for the clinic, more and more doctors became interested in learning the unique instrument style of atlas correction. In 2001, Dr. G. Stanford Pierce Sr. and Jr. officially created the Advanced Orthogonal Training Program. The training program was designed to teach aspiring doctors upper cervical work in seminar format, and the Pierce’s did so at that location for the next five years.
The Clinic of Today
The current Pierce Clinic of Chiropractic is located just up the street from the Town Plaza location, presently residing at 2201 62nd Avenue North in St. Petersburg, Florida. In addition to treatment areas for Upper Cervical adjusting, massage and physical therapy, the 9200 sq. foot location also holds an education and training center. The learning center hosts patient education events and seminars on a near weekly basis, and is also used in the Advanced Orthogonal Institute training program for chiropractic students and physicians. Doctors from across the globe have learned how to provide quality Upper Cervical care from the instructors of the Institute.
Experience matters when it comes to choosing a healthcare provider. As one of the oldest chiropractic clinics in the bay area, the Pierce Clinic has a long history of helping patients in the Tampa Bay area. Backed by a team of exceptional doctors, the Pierce Clinic continues to provide hope for those struggling with a variety of health conditions.
